Hi - just a quick question - has anyone ever done a Reiki course via home study or via a workshop?  I’m thinking of doing my first level but am just looking into the different options at the moment and would be grateful for any advice smile

I’m a Reiki practitioner and i did both my degrees on one day workshops in a very small group. I’m not sure if you can do distance courses but I wouldn’t recommend one as the practical bits are invaluable. If you go on to the Reiki federation site http://www.reikifed.co.uk/dirdb/mapregion.php and look for Reiki Master teachers in your area, they will be able to help. You should excpect to pay around £100 for your first degree, and you will get a training booklet. First degree will mean you can practice on friends and family.

I wish you well. xx

I did my reiki 1 and 2 via day workshops. I don’t really see how you could do them via distance learning due to the practical stuff and also the attuning part. I found the level 1 very helpful and interesting but the level 2 not so much. I don’t use it to practice professionally, but I do use what I learnt to inform my own ways of natural healing which I use on friends and family (mainly family). I also found it pretty expensive for what it is, and found the justification for this, which was given in the workshop, a little unconvincing.
