Hello,
I’ve spent the past few months working really hard on my new news blog. As some of you will know, blogs are often hard work and it has been a fast learning curve. I’m not earning anything from it directly but it is important to keep the standard up as indirectly, of course it’s an advert for me.

So, decided I would ‘come out’ for once with my real name and bravely ask for feedback from yourselves. Content and creation.
Here’s the URL: http://www.franceslaing.co.uk

Thanks in advance, either comment here if you like, or on the blog.

“Hello, this is Radio 4. The news today: the world is ending, and most of us are going to die in a variety of hideous and extremely painful ways. Later on in the programme, we discuss how this will affect the already falling W.I membership numbers. But right now, it’s time for “The Archers”

Treat the earth well: it was not given to you by your parents,
it was loaned to you by your children.
We do not inherit the Earth from our Ancestors,
we borrow it from our Children.

Just a comment on the design and I don’t know if this is deliberate. If it is, then that’s fine and your choice of styling.

What I see is over 2/3 of the site on the RHS of my screen is in deep red with a small column of writing on it (on the left) and the main body of your site takes up less than 1/3 on the LHS.
This means you have incredibly long pages and lots of , what I would call, ‘dead space over on the right.

In addition, the font on the red background is tiny. I have good eye sight, but a small screen resolution which makes it hard to read.

I’m using Firefox and Windows XP

Well done on pouring so much time and energy into it; it’s a labour of love, right?! smile

Yes, it’s deliberate, that’s the template. Thanks again. It is a drawback with the template, but I personally liked the design and as you bloggers know, there comes a point where you have to focus on content and make a choice. Unless that is, you can farm out the work or write html (which I haven’t learned yet). It is really good to get comments and feedback from yourselves so appreciate the time you’ve taken.
