We have Reuben Christopher, Reuben we both always liked and is Hebrew for ‘Behold! A Son!‘ which is pretty much how we felt! :D And the Christoper is in memory of a friend of mine who commited suicide.

For the one we’re pregnant with now, we’ve picked Solomon Rain for a boy and Pixie Willow for a girl. (We find out on Thursday!)

Solomon has ‘sol’ in it, relating to the Sabbat they were conceived closest to, and is Hebrew for ‘peace’, which is wonderful because that’s exactly how I feel in this pregnancy compared to Ru’s! And we simply liked Rain!

Pixie Willow, Pixie is just a lovely name and is unusual, and Willow is a bit pagan-ey! x

My little one is named Sotirios we call him Soto. My husband is greek and to follow tradition we named him after my husbands father. The name means ‘Saviour’ and although they consider it greek orthodox it was used much earlier than christianity so I prefer to related to ancient greek smile. you have to make everyone happy I guess

Joseph and Giles. We really wanted to call Joe, Giles but everyone hated it. We ended up with it because I had seen it on a plastic bag of all things but the name and the typeface looked really good. Strong and creative at the same time. Giles because we liked it so much. We wanted to be a bit different but not too different. I imagined a soft giant sort or character and that is what he is. He really suits his name, even though lots of people don’t like it. oh oh

I have a Melissa Rose, who was going to be Jude if a boy. I had a huge list of girls’ names and only about 3 boys’. DP went through the long list after my little rosebud was born and picked out just 3 that he liked, and Melissa was the one we both liked best. I picked Rose as I love it and a middle name had to be short as she has a double-barrelled surname. I love all the flower/tree names (esp. Poppy, Violet, Willow) because I love flowers & trees (!), I also love bees; Melissa is lemon balm, which attracts bees, and Melissa is also Greek for honey bee. We call her Lissy for short. I liked the name when she was born (obviously!) but really love it now. And Neal’s Yard do a great herbal tea called Lemon Balm & Rose - perhaps I should ask them to rename it Melissa Rose! After she was born, my aunt gave me a melissa plant for the garden, and like my little girl it is growing strong & healthy.
