Sooo…

DF got REALLY broody when we were surrounded by little babies on holiday a couple of weeks ago which made him realise that he wants one ASAP. He wanted a baby when we get married, but in a very blokey way he wasnt as excited about it as I was. Now he’s VERY into the idea.

While we were there, there was an offer of 50% off your next holiday if you book before you leave. So we did. But when we did the maths, if we TTC after the wedding, we will either be due around the holiday, be taking a tiny tiny infant away with us (with me possibly 3weeks post-surgery if we end up with another c-section) or heavily pregnant (not really an option because of the CFS.

All of this brought us to the conclusion that to be ‘safe’ for the holiday, we would need to wait until JANUARY!!!! At which point, I burst into tears and had a little hissy fit :S

Long story short, on DF’s decision, we started discussing the possibility of TTC BEFORE the wedding. We thought if we tried September, then I would only be a few weeks pregnant for the wedding, should still fit in my dress and the morning sickness shouldnt have kicked in yet. YAY!!!!

So I organised to have my coil removed. Should have been done yesterday, but the Dr cancelled on us. Rescheduled for Tomorrow. It occured to me that because we DTD in the last week, when I have the coil out, if I ovulate quickly (as some women do) we could end up PG earlier than we thought. Told DF and he asked how far gone I’d be for the wedding (12 weeks) how that would affect my dress (last half a stone due to morning sickness last time, and expecting similar this time, and if I dont, it can be altered)

So he decided, what the heck, we may as well not bother TTA August either.

So as of TOMORROW!!! we are officially TTC!!!!!!!

and i am doing a bizarre little happy dance right now :D

That’s lovely, best of luck!!  wink  Your post made me smile and reminded me of when DH and I were planning our first baby.  I came off the pill a couple of months before our wedding as I’d heard of people taken months and months to conceive after being on the pill.  Anyway, I was very lucky and conceived straight away and actually did the pregnancy test on the morning of our wedding.  The sickness only began towards the end of our honeymoon, so that was ok, but the funny bit was that DH’s parents were confused about my dates.  They were a very Catholic couple and had decided that we must have conceived on honeymoon so kept correcting me every time I told them how many weeks I had left till the baby was due!  As luck had it, DD was sixteen days late, but as far as my parents in law were concerned, she was about a fortnight early!!  grin

i was pregant when dh and i were handfasted. our day was made even more magical knowing our whole family would be there. i love being pregnant and even through the mist of sickness my wedding was made even more magical because of it. i was 22 weeks by the time we got married. my dress was made by a friend who helped so much as accomidating a growing bump and a breast feeding 15 month old was tricky. enjoy the baby making x

awww, that is so cute that your DF has become all broody - so much nicer than feeling like you might have swayed them into it, I always reckon grin

my DH and I decided we were going to TTC from the month after we got married but it did have to be timed a bit precisely as I had to come off of strong medication for me arthritis about 3 months before TTC (we were worried my joints might be bad or the wedding) so then decided we needed to wait a few months after to be on the safe side and to have me feeling well for our day.  Anyway, a few months before the wedding, we returned from a 2 week holiday from Mexico to a broken fridge/freezer and all my meds which have to be kept refridgerated were ruined.  So I decided that was fate and came off the meds then and took my chances.  The only next hurdle was my DH was worried about the pressure of ‘we’re TTC’ on his performance so I was a teeny bit sneaky and the month before the wedding (so a month befre we were going to officially try) I was purposefully not careful around OV time…and we had a very happy ‘surprise’ BFP 3 days after getting married!!  He’s nearly 4 yrs old now grin One of the loveliest things about it was I never had to experience the post wedding planning blues as I had the next thing to look forward to.  Does mean I have NEVER gotten around to putting any wedding photos in an album tho…as you know, kids tend to take over everything else!!

Happy baby making!
