When my Mum came up to see us last, she had some nostalgia in her case… my old spirograph! Given our weather rained off our picnic (we’d go out in light showers, but this is *heavy rain*) deicded I’d get it out at some point today, and demo it to DD1(age 6 & 1/2) - I spent many a rainy day playing with it. She loves it, and is as good as seasoned professional, such as myself! I’m going to try and add our piccies of what we’ve done too….

It’s great when they like playing with things we remember from our own childhood isn’t it?
I picked up one of these for dd last Christmas and she’s been having fun with it since then. Also picked up a 2nd hand etch-a-sketch and she loves that, I ued to love mine too

does anyone remember fuzzy felts? I loved them so much.  Can you still get them?

Yes: We’ve got some! Worth checking charity shops (We have 2 sets from our local hospice shop) but you can buy online, from several outlets, inc amazon.

I picked up similar for Rye, from a car boot sale, last Yule, but we’ve not used it much because it’s an ELC one and I dunno, doesn’t seem that good, prehaps I need to play with it myself to figure out the base config.

Yes Fuzzy felts   I think you can get similar ideas - thought I@ve not seen any quite as a I remember.

The new ones don’t have the same rotation method, Joxy, so are harder to control. Yes, I am a bit of a geek.

i know its cheating but dd1 was given a doodle daisy last xmas and that is very popular with her and visitors. its a simple version of spirograph as it is for younger children and it draws it for you. bit plasticy mind.
