Last year I planned to crochet some bags for presents to be put in for Yule.  I’m not going to have time this year either, I don’t think.. so I wondered if any crafty sewing mama’s are planning on offering any different sized bags???

Hi Joxy,

I’m happy to make you some - this will ‘force’ me to do my own too! Was planning to make them last year, found some fabric and it’s still sitting here… What did you have in mind re. size, colours, style of bag (tote, drawstring)? I try to use re-homed fabrics from the charity shops, but with enough notice I should be able to find what you’d like. And if I can’t I’ll buy some of course.

Look forward to hearing from you!

Oohhh great grin

I was thinkiing of a long draw string type bag, about 75cm long (I’m thinking of getting Rye the large passenger train from myraid for Yule).
And 6 or 7 bags ranging from say A5-A4, maybe slightly bigger sizes, for smaller gifts.

Colour wise I was thinking just bright and colourful, reds, oranges, greens - patterned or not - my only stipulation would be I’d prefer the fabric not to say “Merry Christmas” or anything like that on it, so the bags could be used for birthdays etc too.

Then what I think I’ll do is crochet some fancy “ribbon” to make it even more exciting and fancy grin

Let me know how much you’d like, happy to pay greenies or cash or mixture grin

Cheers my dear.

That sounds fine! When would you like them by - well, Yule of course, but how much before that? I won’t have much time over the Summer holiday, but plenty in September. Would that be ok?

I think I’d like a mix of greenies & cash if that’s ok. Can I let you know how much I think it’s going to be when I’ve started? At the moment I have no idea how much time & materials it’ll take.

Love,

Fab! Now I’ve got to restrain myself, because I really want to rummage through my stash and run to the charity shops to see what else they’ve got - and I need to, have to, MUST tidy my house and pack holiday stuff as we’re going away on Saturday and my friend and her family are staying on our house! Temptation… maybe a just a little rummage then.

I’ll let you know how I get on in a few weeks!

Love,
