After my first post, just wanted to say hi to all! I’m Kat and I run a cloth nappy laundry service and sell nappies for home washing. I’ve three children - 6, 4 and 4 - with one in night nappies (I know he’ll be out of night nappies soon…  confused rolleyes ) - if you’ve any advice about night training a 4yo boy then please let me know! I’ve been lurking for a while red face and there was a post that I just HAD to respond to. I don’t think I’m a cloth nappy addict, just a cloth nappy advocate! Lovely to be part of the forum!

Hello Kat, welcome to the forum smile
I’m Julia, married, with 4 children aged 14, 12, 8, and (almost) 5.  Baby number 5 is due to join us in November all being well.
We live near Torquay in Devon, and home-educate the children so they no longer go to school.

We have just gone through the night-time training routine with our youngest, although we don’t really *do* training here, more just go with the flow smile  Just a plastic sheet on the bed, taking note of the amount of drinks he had towards bedtime (and limiting where appropriate), ensuring toilet visit before getting into bed, and if we thought it necessary (due to liquid intake beforehand), we would get him up to go to the toilet before we went to bed ourselves.  Actually, we hardly had to do this (I think maybe twice?), and he didn’t fully wake on either occasion.  I think we had around 4 night-time accidents and he is now fully dry.  We just leave him to it now, he knows when he wants to go and I have heard him get up when he needs to.

I look forward to chatting with you.
Jules xx

Hi Kat, welcome

I am one of the many advisors who frequent these boards.  My son is 3.5 years now and decided on his own last year whilst we were on holiday that he no longer needed a nappy at night.  We’ve had an accident roughly once every 2-3 months so we don’t stress just make sure he has a waterproof pad under his sheets at night and he pees before bed.  your LO will be dry when ready.
