Hi everyone

A while ago I was asking about training nappies/knickers but after thinking about it I think we will go straight from nappies to knickers in the day.  I do however need to pick your brains about nappies for night time.  I want to get her some lovely soft nappies for her to sleep in at night as ours are getting rather worn now.  She is 2 1/2 but is small in size (she is still wearing 1 1/2 - 2 yrs clothes).  Any ideas would be gratefully received grin

Thanks

I love minky blueberries too.

Yeah they cost about £19 each, *but* that includes the booster, and it’s an all in one. So it’s about average compared to if you were to buy a nappy + wrap. I just bought two but if I’d discovered them sooner I’d have bought just blueberries.
You could get Wonderoos, they are chaper but I think they are great, They come with 2 Microfibre inserts which popper together so you can have it extra boosted, or just put one in if you dont need it too absorbant. They are cheaper at around £12 to £15 including inserts. I bought 4 of them to add to the blueberries (because my daughter was almost two when I bought them so I knew she wouldn’t be in them for long and didnt want to spend too much.)

I think any bamboo nappy with a wool soaker is the answer for night time nappies. If you use a wool soaker, it allows the nappy to dry while still on, so you don’t need to add all that boosting you need, with PUL wraps or pocket nappies. This makes it much cumfier.

Wool is amazig stuff for nappy covers - it is waterproof, but totally breathable. With a PUL wrap, when the wee evaporates with your babys warmth, it just condenses back onto the PUl, so the nappy retains the wet. With wool, it allows this evaporated wet to escape, without wetting outer garments and bedding, so you just don’t need the bulk.

The Easy Peasy Bamboo Bumper is geat for overnighting larger toddlers, as it is a really big nappy.

I’ve been trying out various night nappies on my 18 mth old and have found the Minkis the best so far. They are so soft and comfy looking and they have a pocket so you can stuff them if necessary. My wee one is a heavy wetter at night so I stuff with microfibre cloths or hemp boosters but if your wee one doesn’t wet alot at night then you may not need to boost at all.
Hope this helps

I would go for Minki Huggle nappies.  A bit bulky (but doesn’t really matter at night) but very absorbent.  As a pp says you can add extra stuffing such as inserts, boosters or microfibre cloths.  We always used a bigger size Motherease Rikki or Airflow wrap but wool or fleece are other options for an outer wrap.

Fab, thanks a lot for all your replies.  I am not worried about buying second hand, is there a web site that does this?  I seem to remember looking at one a while back but can’t find the link on my pc :-(  May buy one new one too but can’t really afford £20 per nappy as it will only probably be used for a few months.

Our 2.5 year old DS wears TotsBots Fluffles with the insert and an additional booster pad at night. We use the Motherease Airflow wraps.

I would recommend bamboo nappies over anything else. They’re the most absorbant and the softest on the skin, and the fibre is completely organic. I used bamboo nappies with both my children, partly to be eco friendly and partly because I just love the feel of bamboo cloth. Its anti bacterial too so it just feels cleaner, which is obviously a bonus when it comes to nappies!

Good luck!

Just wanted to say a big thank you to you all.  Managed to get a second hand blueberry (fab so far) and a fuzzi bunz from ebay at a good price.  Just need to get one more, maybe the wonderoo.
