    A wee anecdote on this theme… I was at the school gate one day and overheard someone say “I like to help the ‘less fortunate’..“ - thought that expression went out in medieval times. Told my other half who said you should have said: “What you mean, those who are less intelligent than you are…! (sarcasm)...

    That phrase reminds me of when my friend and I decided to make history come alive, when we were doing the Great Famine in school. We wrapped our blazers round our head a la shawl,  sat on a street corner rocking back and forth, going “Potaaaaaaaatoes! Potaaaaaaaaatoes! Does anyone have any Potaaaaatoes!“

    Well, I can breathe easy as (so far) we’re not on there! (Breathe easy, my arse!)

    What a load of twaddle!

    According to this, I grew up with 1. and 3. and I turned out just fine and my mother did a great job (considering I was a very rebellious teenager!).
