Coed Marros Cooperative
PRESS RELEASE
______________________________________________________________
A community woodland cooperative is starting the New Year by inviting people to join them for a weekend of tree care on the 13th and 14th February 2010. Many local people and school groups have helped over the last few years planting native woodland mixtures to help diversify the conifer plantation. Coed Marros would like to welcome anyone with an interest in learning about woodland management or who would just like to get out in the fresh air and get their hands dirty.
If you cannot make this, there are future opportunities as the cooperative run volunteer weekends every 2nd weekend in the month and also hold other courses such as Fruit Tree Grafting. This practical course is being held on Sunday 21st February as the first phase towards developing their fruit tree nursery, which is being established to grow many varieties of Apple, Cherry, Plum and Pear. People are invited to come and help plant the ‘Root-stock’ and learn how to graft fruiting branches on to them. If you are interested in growing your own there is an opportunity to buy grafted seedlings on the day, either using cuttings from your own trees or those supplied by Coed Marros.
Please get in touch for more details if you would like to attend on: 07956435094 or email
