After 3 years of waiting I finally have my allotment.  It is a quarter plot covered with weeds but nothing drastic. I am really excited and I hope that my enthusiasm doesn’t waver. The other gardeners seem to be lovely and have offered their advice which is reassuring. For those on the GP forum who are still waiting for their allotment, hang on in there, I promise 3 years went fast!!! Although the manager of the allotment said that those on the bottom of the list had a 14 year wait. Eek!!!

Congratulations, hope you have great fun on your allotment. A quarter plot sounds great - at least you don’t have too much to manage and you could always get another one sometime if you are after more growing space.

Good luck, happy growing. February is a great time to take over a new plot, that’s when we got ours smile

That’s really good news. If you ask me I’d put your name down for another one straight away. Everyone who has had a half plot that I know of, says it’s not enough! Questioners Garden Time is still going. Blog in it’s second year - allotment in it’s fourth…see

Best of luck

Have fun!  I second WW suggestion of putting your name down now for an additional plot.  Oooh, now what to plant?  Have you got any perennial crops in situ?

Oh congratulations, I know how it feels to finally get the news and when we got our half plot after waiting ages we were absolutely delighted.  I think it is one of the bes things that you can do for yourselves and your children.  I’m still quite a novice, but it’s a great learning curve!!!!
