I’m 36, born in Mozambique. Went to South Africa when I was 6 months old. Went to live in Portugal with my parents when I was 12. Studied, got pregnant when I was 17, then 19. Very difficult being a single parent in Portugal! Met TC, had a boy when I was 30. Motherhood seemed so more easygoing. Due to the bad economic situation, we decided to come to England and try our luck. I had to leave my oldest children with close family and work hard to give them a home and schooling (they joined me two years later). Now, here I am, two more little boys and a bit more wiser. I feel that becoming a mother has made me feel better about myself and given me the purpose to get out of bed in the morning, they give me a reason to live!
