I was up till 3am last night with what I though was the start of birth. at 3 I decided to do some meditation and fell asleep. this morning I have woken up a little disappointed and tired as no baby !!! I have contracting every evening for the last 3 weeks but usually go to bed and they stop, so when they didn’t I got a little excited !!! the problem I have is my contractions don’t hurt, even when I am very established labour !!!I made plans with what is should do with sleeping husband and children and was really enjoying contracting on my own ,at home. I decided I would not wake any one up till I thought I needed help and if that meant the baby was to be born at home that is what would have happened !!!

oh well, I will rest again today and wait to see what this evening brings !!

When our DD arrives, we would very much like to co-sleep but not to the extent that the she is in the middle of our our bed (worries about crushing her, first time parenting fears etc etc) and so we’re trying to find a co-sleeping cot/bed, that can go next to our bed so that we can sill have the close contact. I know Mamas & Papas used to do one but they have stopped making them and I was therefore wondering if anybody has any thoughts or personal recommendations that they can help us with.

Thank you very much in advance

Jude will be 5 weeks tomorrow, and I don’t feel we are even close to normal :( I cut us all some slack to start with, and we are now able to get out of the house to groups and things, but always late, and other stuff just isn’t happening. I haven’t managed to clean the bathroom since Jude’s birth - my husband has, but more of a wipe over than a proper clean. We often now forget to take our own bags to the supermarket, which makes me feel so guilty, we are still either eating the pre-prepared frozen food I did before Jude’s birth or buying something (often pizza or filled pasta) day by day at the supermarket. I haven’t managed to bake at all, so all our treats are shop bought - we actually can’t afford to keep living like this.

Just wondered when things got back to normal in your house - have i just got used to being a bit lazy and disorganised :( ?

If you have a hospital birth and want to take your own placenta home.with you do you have to take anything with you to put the placenta in? Has anyone done this and how did the midwives take to it? Any advice around this is greatly appreciated as I’m sure there are questions I have forgotten to ask.

I’m not actually pregnant at the moment, we are planning on having another and this is something I would really like to do. I’m just being super prepared.

ok so I am looking at the possibility of artificial rupture of membranes which could lead to a section.

I was wondering if people could help.
I know in the past beads has been passed around to help and I was wondering if any one could send me something I could thread on a cord i could use during the birth. I have felt a lot of support from this forum for the last nearly 5 years I have been using it and could do with a little extra at the moment. I would hope to use the cord during the birth to keep my thoughts positive and not think about the negative. please pm me for my address and I will very happy if any one has the time to do this for me xx

I’m not sure if I can stomach any more milk!! I’m filling myself up on milk and not being very hungry and meal times - but what else can I do to relieve heartburn? I have a yoga dvd for pregnancy and it shows some stretches in there which I am doing daily but it doesn’t seem to be making a difference.

I can’t stand gaviscon and don’t really want to take anything else right now. Milk only seems to relieve it for a short time before I need to get more! But I’m going through gallons of it!

Any ideas?

Thank you! x
