Of course, there’s loads of other juicy stuff going on – check out the website here to find out why it’s the place to be this weekend.
Am reading this great book that I picked up in Glastonbury’s wealth of tempting bookshops when I went last weekend for a mini-break. It’s about creative parenting and it’s really inspiring, offering lots of practical exercises that help to bring clarity. I bought myself a new journal and dug out some art equipment. And over the last week or so I have completed some really interesting exercises from the book – the results of which have been really revealing about my parenting style and how I would like things to change.
Called The Creative Journal for Parents it encourages the use of a journal, coloured pens, pencils, collage materials and complete creative freedom to work through exercises such as creating a nurturing home environment and inner child work. The author recommends setting aside a regular time to get creative and she explains that this is one of the most beneficial aspects for many parents, the fact that they are inspired to take a daily time-out from other responsibilities to do something different. The thing I like most about it is that it is so much fun to do. I have been meaning to make more time for creativity for ages and this book has just opened that door for me. Yay!
Welcome to the new blog from the Green Parent office. Here we'll talk about what's going on in the small and quite leafy headquarters of the UK's leading green lifestyle magazine. We'll share news that interests us and talk about green issues and natural parenting. We'll share advice and information from our own experiences of living a green lifestyle. And we'll even tell you what we are reading, eating, drinking and thinking. Hope you get plenty of food for thought here.
