Spring Celebrations

This Spring families from Hertfordshire will be taking part in an empowering experience to learn new skills in the outdoors & have fun together! For a great day out for the whole family, you can join the Spring Celebrations from Tuesday 6 to Sunday 18 April at Celtic Harmony Camp, Iron Age village in Brickendon near Hertford.

Activities include baking spring bread, feeding the animals (every day at 11am), making baskets, origami frogs and model felt lambs with egg and spoon races as a finale to the day. They will join the settlements regular line-up of activities ranging from longbow archery and storytelling to treasure hunts for adults, children, families and other groups.

As Clare Holt, Marketing Manager, explains Ostara is the time of the spring equinox, 21 March, when night and day are equal length. It was a time when the Celts celebrated the changing of the seasons – April is a great month to visit Celtic Harmony Camp, with all the signs that spring has arrived!

Celtic Harmony is a social enterprise promoting a better understanding of the natural world through the ancient Celtic culture.
