Rooibos tea for health

Known most famously for it’s internal health benefits as a tea, Rooibos also boasts healing properties for the skin. Harvested by hand and cured naturally in the Cape mountains in South Africa, Rooibos contains a variety of anti-oxidant properties, some of which are entirely unique to this plant.

The flavanoid Asphalatin (a potent anti-oxidant found in Rooibos) is well known to fight aging as well as being soothing to skin. Sally Robinson of Organic at Heart recognised these proerties when creating her natural skincare range for mother and babies.

To keep your skin in tip top condition during and after pregnancy, Organic at Heart recommend the following skincare regime. Once or twice a week, gently exfoliate skin areas prone to stretch marks. Enjoy a warming bath or shower with Citrus and ginger bath/shower gel and then massage your pregnant tummy with Stretch Mark Cream. You and your baby will enjoy the massage and you will be rubbing cream into new skin, giving it the best chance of stretching without scarring. The cream contains Rooibos as well as Frankincense essential oil, which has been clinically proven to rejuvenate skin and help reduce inflammation and scarring, Shea Butter, packed full of skin nutrients and Rosehip oil containing Vitamin E and essential fatty acids give skin the ultimate conditioning boost .

All Organic at Heart skincare products bear the UK Soil Association certification stamp – a guarantee that they contain only natural, organic, traceable ingredients from the farm they were grown on to the shelf you purchase them from. All the ingredients and formulas and have been through rigorous testing. Organic at Heart is also committed to supporting ethical trading and environmental issues through their new ranges. Many unique therapeutic ingredients have been sourced from community projects all over the developing world. Thanks to the continued support these farmers are getting, their communities are thriving. On environmental issues; all raw materials from outside of the UK use sea freight and all product packaging is kept to a minimum using recyclable bottles and paper, decompostible bags and the use of vegetable dyes on print.

Mummy and Baby products in the Organic at Heart are available at Waitrose stores, starting at £4 and from 25th February to the end of March, all products are 25% off.
