I live with my husband and our gorgeous two year old in rural South Hams just outside of the wonderfully eclectic Totnes. I adore reading (when I get any time), cooking, family walks in nature, listening to waves crashing on the shore and feeling the hot sun on my face.

MY MORNING ROUTINE
My morning routine has changed a bit since having our beautiful boy, so they usually consist of being nudged out of bed by my little one saying ‘I want to play’, splashing my face with really cold water, then heading downstairs bleary eyed reaching for the kettle and then making my little one breakfast!

But on the rare morning I have a moment to myself (thank you Mr Moksa) I love to start the morning with some simple stretches, breathing and just taking a moment - ordinarily yoga and meditation but the time dedicated to them doesn’t quite feel worthy of those terms! My idea of a real feel good start to the day involves a lovely hot cloth facial ritual and a good nutritious breakfast - my favourite being blueberry, almond pancakes. On a not-so-saintly morning it’s an almond croissant from our amazing local bakery and a decaf coffee.

MY FUTURE PLANS
Gosh, since starting the business it’s been difficult to plan ahead as we started a family pretty much as soon as I’d set Moksa up. Then a pandemic hit the world so I find it incredibly difficult to look ahead sometimes. I’m definitely more of a day by day person practically, but with plenty of dreams of what the future could look like!

3 THINGS ABOUT MOKSA

  1. I take a lot of inspiration from India, having spent some time there previously. Moksa is a Sanskrit word meaning inner peace and bliss. A few of our products have been inspired by Sanskrit words, including Chandra (meaning moon) - a lunar deity described as young and beautiful, deriving from ‘Chand’ meaning ‘to shine’.
  2. The first facial oil I made was for my own wedding favours. It was a rose facial oil, now my signature Wild Rose Facial Elixir.
  3. We strive to be as sustainable as possible. Everything is sourced responsibly and ethically and with as minimal impact on the environment as possible. From our business cards to bottles, handwritten notecards included in every order, the packaging down to the box it comes in, everything is recycled and recyclable.
