After working for years at the renowned Suma Foods co-operative, myself and close friend, Rob Costello started our soap company in 2008. Today, I take a very hands-on approach to running the business, and have a team of 22 people in a variety of roles helping to bring Friendly Soap products to market.
MY MORNING ROUTINE
My morning routine is fairly simple. I follow a vegan lifestyle and often swap out the coffee hit for a barley cup. I cycle into work when possible (less impressive than it sounds, I only live 2.5 miles away).
MY FUTURE PLANS
Our plans for the near future are to keep reviewing our practices to make sure we function as ethically as possible. A ‘new normal’ is slowly but surely emerging, where environmental and ethical considerations are becoming almost second nature for growing numbers of consumers. At Friendly this has always been the case – after all, it’s why we started our business in the first place.

- We recently we looked at our logistics processes, and particularly at the wrap we used to cover our large pallets of products. As a result, for this application we’ve now switched to a superb new oxo-biodegradable film wrap.
