INSPIRATION
I started beekeeping as a hobby and thought about what more I could do with it. My eldest son is disabled so I wanted something that was meaningful, gave to people but could fit round him and his needs. I have always lived a fairly green and clean lifestyle, including a subscription to The Green Parent so started making products for us as a family. Friends had some samples and suggested I take it further and start the business.
BEST BEAUTY ADVICE
Toners have moved on from those in the 90’s. No longer drying they add another level of hydration. I now produce my own which I would not be without.
DESERT ISLAND PRODUCT
Beeutiful’s B-Rose Facial Balm. Intended for the face it is amazingly hydrating, goes on perfectly and smells glorious. You need such a small amount that if I was on a desert island I would use it all over and bask in it’s beautiful scent.
WHAT’S NEXT FOR YOUR BRAND?
To continue the steady growth of the previous five years by adding more products and stockists to my current range. I also have plans for more beehives as I would like to also offer honey all year round on my website and in my retail outlets too.
TAKE ACTION AT HOME
• Less is more - i.e. share washing products, share shave foam/oil.
• Use bar soap - choose a natural bar without SLS and other unnecessary ingredients and let the whole family use it. Better for the environment, better for you.
• Conserve water; shower rather than bath, or if you do bath then share the water. Only flush the toilet when necessary, if you’re hydrated and it’s a number 1, leave it and flush it next time you or someone else goes. If it’s a number 2 then probably best it’s flushed straight away!
