This week we are coming up and out of the dark with a realisation that the first month of the year is almost over and even if it may not feel like it today, spring is indeed on her way says Adeola Sheehy.

Embrace the young maiden energy and bring some movement back to your bones. Is it easy to slow the body down in winter but sometimes when our bodies stagnate so do our thoughts, ideas, and feelings. We can quickly feel in a funk and despair that the intentions we set only a few weeks ago seem just as far off as ever.

This is the week to go for a walk with friends, throw an impromptu kitchen dance party or try one of those gym classes you thought about at the beginning of the year. Movement should never feel like a chore so do what feels good to you, that allows space for laughter and that leaves you feels lighter and invigorated.

Journal

Moving our bodies around comes easily to the young. They relish leaping, running, skipping and all forms of physical expression. What types of movement did you enjoy as a child? What types of movement have you enjoyed more recently?

Think about the things that make you happy to move and the types that you can share with the people around you. Which of these could you make time for this week?
